Abstract

Abstract: Household conflict is a prevalent issue in Mojolegi and has far-reaching effects, not only on marital relationships but also on the mental health of children. From a psychoanalytic perspective, continuous exposure to family conflict can disrupt key stages of personality development, especially during early childhood. Children raised in conflict-ridden environments are prone to anxiety, emotional instability, and difficulties in forming a healthy self-identity. This study explores the impact of household conflict on children's mental well-being through a psychoanalytic lens, complemented by Islamic teachings. Employing a qualitative case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with conflicted families and direct observations of affected children in Mojolegi. Findings indicate that such conflict contributes to emotional distress, insecurity, and behaviors such as withdrawal or aggression in children. From an Islamic viewpoint, the family serves as the primary institution for a child's upbringing. The Qur’an and hadith underscore the need for a harmonious household, grounded in love, mercy, and responsibility toward children as a divine trust. Integrating psychoanalytic insights with Islamic values offers a holistic strategy to mitigate the effects of household conflict. The study recommends family-centered psychological interventions that incorporate spiritual elements to strengthen communication, promote emotional resilience, and foster a supportive environment conducive to children's mental development.
