This study aims to explore the spiritual dimensions of the Qur'anic narrative on the creation of man and woman, with particular focus on the term nafs wāḥidah as it appears in several verses. Although this expression has often been interpreted to mean that Ḥawwāʾ (Eve) was created from Adam, the Qur’an itself does not explicitly state that the woman was created from a man’s rib. Instead, the verses emphasize that both were created from a single soul, thereby allowing for more gender-equitable and balanced interpretations. The research employs a qualitative method through a thematic interpretation (tafsīr al-mawḍūʿī) approach and is conducted using library research as its main data source. The analysis technique used is content analysis to examine the spiritual meanings and messages within the Qur’anic verses concerning human creation. The findings indicate that both man and woman were created from the same spiritual entity, without hierarchical distinctions. Their relationship is directed toward building tranquility (sakan), harmony, and mutual spiritual responsibility. Thus, this study contributes to an inclusive and gender-just reading of the Qur’an, offering an alternative interpretive framework that may serve as an ethical foundation for nurturing relationships between men and women based on compassion, reciprocity, and justice in modern society.
