The Concept of Quality Education From Nurcholish Madjid's Perspective In the Relationship of Quality Assurance and Leadership of Islamic Boarding Schools

Abstract

This study discusses the concept of quality education from the perspective of Nurcholish Madjid and its relationship with quality assurance and pesantren leadership in the context of modern Islamic education. The research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach through the analysis of various relevant literature regarding Nurcholish Madjid's thought, Islamic education, quality assurance, and pesantren leadership. The results of the study show that the quality of education, according to Nurcholish Madjid, is not only oriented to academic achievement, but also to the formation of a whole human being through the integration of spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social aspects. Pesantren is seen as having a strategic role in building intellectual culture and community character, but it is necessary to transform it to remain relevant to the times. In this case, pesantren leadership has a central position in building a culture of quality, managing change, and maintaining the traditional values of the pesantren. Quality assurance of Islamic boarding school education requires visionary, adaptive, humanist leadership, and is able to integrate Islamic values with the demands of 21st century education so as to create quality, moderate, and competitive Islamic education in the contemporary era.
