Abstract

This study explores how Islamic economic ethics are internalized by santri in pesantren amid growing engagement with digital financial platforms. It examines the potential of pesantren to foster ethically literate and digitally capable youth, able to navigate and reform contemporary financial landscapes. Through qualitative research, findings reveal that while santri embrace digital tools for financial independence, their ethical engagement is profoundly shaped by Islamic values such as amanah and maslahah. However, structural constraints within pesantren limit the translation of these values into actionable digital-economic competencies. The study argues for reimagining pesantren as spaces that integrate ethical formation with digital fluency, enabling santri to become agents of ethical and economic transformation.
