Abstract

Forced marriage is a practice that still occurs in various regions, including in Plaosan Village, Krucil District, Probolinggo. This study aims to explore the impact of forced marriage on children's mental health, using a psychoanalytic perspective and the values of Islamic family law. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews conducted with children who have experienced forced marriage, their parents, and local community leaders. The findings indicate that forced marriage contributes to an increased risk of mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. From a psychoanalytic perspective, the trauma experienced by these children is rooted in repression and unresolved internal conflicts. Additionally, the values of Islamic family law, which emphasize the protection of children and the importance of education as a means to prevent forced marriage, are identified as crucial factors in mitigating these negative impacts. This study is expected to provide insights for policymakers and the community to develop more effective interventions to protect children from forced marriage and its psychological effects.
