Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Child-Friendly School program in character building for students at Minu 09 Bani Hatmin Laccar. Although the school does not yet have official documentation, such as a Decree or written commitment regarding this program, it has already applied the principles of a child-friendly school. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with the subjects including the principal, teachers, and students. At the same time, the object of study focuses on the implementation of the child-friendly school program. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validation was conducted using source triangulation. The results indicate that the school is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students’ holistic development. The primary focus of the program implementation is on strengthening student character, such as Discipline, courtesy, and responsibility. Child-friendly education is consistently implemented both in classroom learning and external activities. The main challenges faced are the absence of formal regulations and technical support, addressed through collaboration between the principal, teachers, foundation, and school committee. The Child-Friendly School program at Minu 09 Bani Hatmin Laccar effectively shapes students' character, even without official documentation. This highlights the importance of an approach based on inclusive and holistic values to support students' character development optimally.
