Upaya Guru Dalam Mengembangkan Karakter Siswa Melalui Program Sekolah Ramah Anak

Abstract

This study examines teachers’ efforts to develop students’ character through child-friendly education at SDN 2 Sawahmulya. This study aims to describe teachers’ efforts to develop students’ character through the implementation of child-friendly education. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that teachers play an important role in developing students’ character through student-centered learning, habituation, role modeling, and the creation of a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Character development is also supported through religious activities, such as Dhuha prayer and praying before lessons, as well as habituation to maintaining cleanliness, greeting teachers, and developing discipline and responsibility. In addition, teachers seek to understand students’ needs and characteristics by providing opportunities for them to express their opinions and participate actively in learning activities. The study concludes that child-friendly education can support students’ character development through teacher role modeling, consistent habituation, student-centered learning, and family involvement in the educational process.
